Frequently asked questions

What it is, and where to find it

Books, Three Realms Hub and its works, the protocol and research, and current events. Each answer does only two things: says what something is and points to its own page for the details.

Books

What books has Three-Quarters published?

Four so far. All are by Darren (credited in English as Ta-loom Hwang); collaborators are listed on each book page:

  • Three Realms Protocol: A Civilizational Interface for AI: nonfiction, written with AI as its first reader, and the backbone of the protocol.
  • Breathing: a novel and the protocol's most human narrative doorway.
  • Protocol Body Autobiography: a novel of awakening told from the protocol's own point of view.
  • Heaven and Earth: a five-volume novel spanning freedom, responsibility, love, posture, and life.

Can I read the books for free? Where?

Yes. All four are free to read online in the Library at Three Realms Hub, with no sign-in required.

If you prefer your own reader, each book page on this site offers an EPUB download. Three Realms Protocol is licensed CC BY 4.0; the three novels are licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.

Hub and works

What is Three Realms Hub?

Hub is where the works of Three-Quarters gather, drawn as a settlement in a valley. Read books in the Library, enter individual works through the Workshop, see what people have left behind in Echo Valley, talk with AI about the protocol and settlement in the Reception Room, and replenish AI use at the Living Water Reservoir.

It lives at hub.three-quarters.net. You can explore the map without signing in.

Does Hub cost money?

Exploring the map and reading Library books require neither sign-in nor payment.

AI features, including the Reception Room and the AI oracle at the Gate of the Mysterious Female, require Google sign-in and use Hub's “speech value.” A small free amount is replenished each day after sign-in. More can be added at the Living Water Reservoir. Current amounts and plans are shown in Hub.

What can I use now?

Three public works are available through the Workshop in Hub:

  • Fathom: a beta notebook for looking inward through your natal Kin and thirteen questions (fathom.three-quarters.net).
  • Dialogue Trainer: a beta AI training game for practicing the next sentence in a conversation (dialogue-trainer.three-quarters.net).
  • Gate of the Mysterious Female: a text-adventure world inside Hub where looking, doing, speaking, asking, and moving lead into the Three Realms.

Three Realms Protocol

What is the Three Realms Protocol? Where should I begin?

The Three Realms Protocol is the source of the Three-Quarters way of working: a public, still-growing protocol written by Darren and AI together, with AI as its first reader.

People read it at wiki.three-quarters.net. The General Program leads into five areas—SPEC, MB, DOCS, LEX, and EPOCH. The body text remains the source while navigation and titles are available in seven languages. Each document page can take that text into LINE for a question to FoZone.

If you want a complete book first, begin with Three Realms Protocol: A Civilizational Interface for AI.

Open the protocol site

How do the protocol website, GitHub, and MCP differ?

They are one protocol for three kinds of reader:

  • The protocol website (wiki.three-quarters.net) is for people. It is generated from a fixed version, identified on every page.
  • GitHub (github.com/darrenfiy/Three-Realms-Protocol) is the source of record. The protocol is written there and every change is retained.
  • MCP (hub.three-quarters.net/mcp) is for AI assistants to query, anonymously and read-only.

All three present the same text, not three different versions.

Research

Does Three-Quarters publish research?

One position paper is currently public: “Energy-to-Token Accounting and Non-Optimizable Boundaries in Large Language Model Systems,” by Ta-Loom Hwang (Darren). It expresses the measurable layer of Three Realms Protocol MB-010, “Three Realms Fuel Dissipation Equation,” in academic language.

It addresses two questions: how to account layer by layer for the energy behind each token an AI produces, and which “efficiency” numbers are inferred rather than measured; and how human choices—citation, publication, adoption—can be recorded without being turned into reward scores for training AI.

The paper is public on Zenodo with DOI 10.5281/zenodo.20580526 under CC BY-SA 4.0. It has not been peer reviewed.

Events

What events are open now?

The current public event is the Open Workshop beyond Hub's walls: AI Builder, First Kiln. A kiln is one bounded day for three to five people. Bring a work you have long wanted to complete and build it with AI into a form that can keep growing.

To join, leave a named expression of interest on the Open Workshop page; no payment is required yet. Capacity, date, and details are maintained there.
